Connecticut Secretary of State
Incumbent Stephanie Thomas will face a challenge from Republican Peter Lumaj in a race she carried by 13 points in 2022.
The Connecticut Secretary of State is described by the State as “The Secretary of the State is designated by the Constitution and General Statutes of Connecticut as the official keeper of a wide array of public records and documents. The office is a vital source of information regarding various businesses, commercial lenders, elections, legislation, regulations and other areas, and responds to more than 600,000 requests for information annually. It also publishes, distributes and sells the State Register and Manual and other publications.”

Candidate Statement
Since taking office, Secretary Thomas has distinguished herself as a strong leader able to build consensus across all party lines. Her business and non-profit background have allowed her to roll out large scale projects successfully and economically.
In addition to her role in Connecticut, she has become a national leader. She serves on the Executive Board of the National Association of Secretaries of State and is an active member of several non-partisan organizations providing thought leadership around the future of elections and the democratic process.
